California AI Digital Replica Contract Protections (AB 2602)

Overview
Makes certain contract terms unenforceable when they allow AI digital replicas of a performer unless the agreement is clear, specific, and the performer had union or independent legal representation negotiating replica uses.
This is an AI-specific state law.

Enforcement and penalties
Invalid clauses are void and unenforceable. Civil remedies include statutory damages and other relief available under the Labor Code sections added or amended by the bill.
